Segment coupler with USB connection for DIN rail
The LCN-SKU segment coupler is a coupling module of the LCN bus system for connecting 2 to 120 LCN segments. It also provides the option to connect a PC directly via a USB connection to the segment bus and the local LCN bus. The LCN-SKU is an intelligent LCN bus module and features a processor with a buffer that ensures loss-free data transmission. It is typically mounted on a DIN rail in distribution cabinets.
Application Areas
The LCN-SKU is used to couple multiple LCN buses in large systems. Each individual LCN bus consists of a maximum of 250 intelligent LCN modules. These LCN modules represent an LCN segment. Up to 120 of these individual LCN segments can be coupled, allowing for up to 30,000 intelligent LCN modules to be used per object. Each module can communicate directly with any other via the segment bus.

Segmentkoppler für große Systeme Der LCN-SK verbindet die Segmente miteinander (bis zu 250 Module pro Segment). Es können bis zu 120 Segmente aufgebaut werden. Mindestens 2 sind erforderlich. Zwei Prozessoren verhindern den Verlust von Datentelegrammen. Der Segmentkoppler arbeitet mit einer Übertragungsgeschwindigkeit von bis zu 2,5 Mbit/s. Die Segmentkoppler sind über ein verdrilltes Paar (CAT 5 Kabel) verbunden. Die Länge dieser Zweidrahtleitung kann insgesamt bis zu 800 m betragen. Je nach Länge des Datenkabels und der Anzahl der angeschlossenen Segmentkoppler können Repeater erforderlich sein. Wenn die volle Übertragungskapazität des Segmentbusses nicht benötigt wird, kann die Übertragungsgeschwindigkeit auf 1/4 oder 1/8 reduziert werden.
