The Bus-Profi: Your Partner for Building Automation

Are you interested in smart homes and looking for a place where you can exchange ideas with other enthusiasts? Would you like to automate your home and need guidance from a professional? Or are you simply looking for the best prices on bus modules? Then Bus Pro is the right place for you.

Behind the name Bus Pro is much more than just an online shop. Owner Nils Gresbrand has been active in the industry for twenty years and can advise you on all relevant systems. He is also the founder of a thriving community: in the Bus Pro forum, you can get help from like-minded people and engage in expert discussions.

Building Automation: Your Path to a Comfortable Life

The smart home is becoming increasingly popular—and for good reason. Professionally implemented building automation can not only make your life much easier, but also save you a lot of money and energy in the long run. Who would say no to that?

In a smart home, you no longer have to get out of bed in the evening to turn off the lights. You can do it from your phone! In winter, you don’t need to get up while your room is still cold—the heating control will warm the room in advance. And best of all: the possible combinations are virtually endless. If you want to use a room for a different purpose in the future, repurposing your bus system is easy to initiate.

What Is a “Bus,” Anyway?

We hear this question often—both professionally and privately. The term is admittedly a bit odd. People are often even more surprised when we explain that it actually derives from the word “omnibus.”

The original idea sounds deceptively simple today: transporting data from A to B like a bus—exactly how a computer does it. Bus modules are mini computers installed in walls or in electrical distribution panels. At the time of their invention, this was an absolute breakthrough, because all the functions that a bus system can easily perform today had previously required extremely complex wiring—or were simply impossible.

Today, all smart-home concepts work with bus systems that are either wired or wireless. Since the modules are not only reprogrammable but can also perform multiple functions almost simultaneously, this means less installation effort and makes future changes of use much easier.

What a Smart Home Can Offer You

Due to the wide variety of possible applications, it is difficult to summarize all the benefits that building automation can offer. That’s why we’ve decided to list and explain some of the options here.

Saving Energy

Are you environmentally conscious and want to reduce your energy consumption? Or would you simply like to save costs? In a smart home, this becomes very easy. Intelligent systems allow you to precisely control when and where it is warm and which lights are on and when.

Comfort

Not only a good bed and a comfortable couch contribute to your living comfort. Building automation can also make your life much more pleasant. A smart home can take over temperature control for your living space and always ensure the right shading—and you can control all of this from your mobile phone if you wish!

Technical Accessibility

Whether due to advanced age or special life circumstances: many people have requirements for their homes that are difficult to meet with traditional methods. Bus systems, however, are ideally suited to making a house or apartment technically accessible. From motion and fall sensors to electric door openers and timers, building automation offers a wide range of options to make your life easier.

Security

Alarm systems are nothing new anymore. Nevertheless, most models are still very complex to install. With the right bus system, much of this effort is eliminated, since modules can fulfill multiple functions at the same time. Sensors on your windows can serve both temperature regulation and property security. This means you can equip your smart home with an excellent security system even later on, with minimal effort, to protect yourself and your loved ones.

Secure Your Success with Support from Bus Pro

Bus systems may only be installed by qualified electricians. However, not all of them have the necessary expertise to fully exploit the potential of these systems. This can result in unnecessary modules being installed or even installation errors.

To prevent this, Bus Pro offers a planning service. Benefit from over 12 years of expertise in planning bus projects and more than 20 years of experience with the products. Nils Gresbrand will review and optimize your project together with you or the electrician you trust. This way, you save not only time but also real money!

This Is Bus-Profi

Bus-Profi Gebäudeleittechnik GmbH was founded in 2011—but the “project” itself has existed for 20 years. Company founder Nils Gresbrand was previously employed by the LCN manufacturer, today’s Issendorff KG. While working in customer service, he became aware of how little information about bus systems was available and made it his mission to collect this information and make it easily accessible.

The idea for Bus Pro was born—and shortly thereafter the first website: www.bus-profi.de. Connected to it was a forum where, then as now, there has been a lively exchange of information among enthusiasts and tinkerers.

Since then, Bus Pro has continued to grow steadily. The forum is now in its fourth incarnation. Our offering has also expanded: in addition to information, we now also provide hardware and services. Among other things, we distribute modules from LCN, Domiq, and Comexio.

Our goal is to further advance bus systems and smart homes. Our team gathers new information and prepares it so that it is easy for you to understand. Our shop always carries the latest products at the best prices. And our service makes your project a complete success.
