Segment coupler for large systems
The LCN-SK connects the segments to each other (up to 250 modules per segment). Up to 120 segments can be built. At least 2 are required. Two processors prevent the loss of data telegrams.
The segment coupler operates at a transmission speed of up to 2.5 Mbit/sec. The segment couplers are connected via a twisted pair (CAT 5 cable). The length of this two-wire line may be up to 800m in total.
Depending on the length of the data wire and the number of connected segment couplers, repeaters may be required.
If the full transmission capacity of the segment bus is not required, its transmission speed can be reduced to 1/4 or 1/8. The range then extends up to 3 km without repeaters.

Issendorff LCN-SKU Segment coupler with USB connection for DIN rail The LCN-SKU segment coupler is a coupling module of the LCN bus system for connecting 2 to 120 LCN segments. It also offers the possibility to directly connect a PC to the segment bus and the local LCN bus via a USB connection. The LCN-SKU is an intelligent LCN bus module and features a processor with a buffer that ensures lossless data transmission. It is typically mounted on a DIN rail in distribution cabinets. Application Areas The LCN-SKU serves to couple several LCN buses in large systems. Each individual LCN bus consists of a maximum of 250 intelligent LCN modules. These LCN modules represent an LCN segment. Up to 120 of these individual LCN segments can be coupled, allowing for up to 30,000 intelligent LCN modules to be used per object. Each module can communicate directly with any other via the segment bus.
